My photography was published in a cover story for Sports Illustrated on the ‘Other Side’ of the college sports NIL landscape.
The focus of the story was around Tennessee’s football captains coming up to NYC to meet with a variety of brands and experience the Big Apple.
There’s a lot of strong opinions on both sides of college athletes being paid for their elite skills, so it was great to see this story shine a light on a couple players benefiting in ways they should have long ago.At times during their athletic career, Hendon Hooker and Cedric Tillman have been told they weren’t good enough. High school rankings looking right past them. Former college coaches and programs telling them to look elsewhere for playing time. But after proving a lot of people wrong last season the two seniors are now national stars and Heisman hopefuls with whole new worlds opened up.They earned it, and this side of the evolution of amateur sports is important.
